Objective
Preservation and promotion of Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage through the revival of eagle hunting traditions and the development of event tourism.
Project Description:
In October 2024, the International Eagle Hunters’ Festival “Shyngys Salburyny” was held in Bozanbay village, bringing together participants and guests from around the world. The festival took place at Mount Bürkit Töbe — a symbolic location where history, culture, and nature come together in a single space.
The festival became more than just a celebration — it was a living revival of heritage, bringing hunting rituals and traditions of nomadic peoples back to life. These traditions have shaped the spirit and cultural identity of the Kazakh land for centuries.
The event brought together 90 eagle hunters from four countries — Russia, Mongolia, Hungary, and China — as well as representatives from two cities of republican significance (Astana and Almaty) and ten regions of Kazakhstan.
The festival became a platform for promoting conscious and cultural tourism, strengthening the region’s international image and highlighting the potential of Eastern Kazakhstan as a center of ethno-cultural heritage.
